Métiers Artisans Bénin SARL (MetArt) processes your data in accordance with Law No. 2017-20 on the Digital Code of the Republic of Benin, under the supervision of the APDP.

Data collected and purposes

Identity and contact details (name, phone, email): to create and secure your account and reach you.

Projects, quotes, contracts, messages: to provide the matching service.

Providers' identity documents: to verify their identity.

Payments: to collect and pay out amounts and keep the accounts.

Audience measurement, only if you accept it (cookie banner, changeable at any time): installed app or browser, device type, brand and model, system and browser, screen size, estimated network (2G to 4G) and data saver, language, country, region and city derived from the IP address, referring site or link (WhatsApp, Facebook, Google, QR code, campaign), pages viewed, time spent and display speed measured on the device: understand how MetArt is used and improve it, especially on phones and slow networks. Nothing you type is measured.

Technical errors (necessary for the service): when a page crashes, the error, MetArt's version, the network, the screen size and how MetArt was opened are sent, without name or contact details, to fix it.

Retention periods

Contracts, invoices, transactions and audit log: 10 years.

Providers' identity documents: 5 years after the account is closed.

Activity log: 12 months.

Audience measurement (visits and pages viewed): 12 months.

Account inactive for 3 years: anonymised, unless the law requires keeping it.

Never-verified sign-up: erased after 7 days.

Recipients and technical providers

Your data is never sold. It is shared only with the providers the service needs: Mobile Money payment, SMS, WhatsApp and email delivery, hosting.

The location derived from the IP address comes from the free DB-IP Lite database, installed on our servers: no address is sent elsewhere. IP Geolocation by DB-IP (https://db-ip.com), CC BY 4.0 licence.

Some of these providers are located outside Benin; these transfers are governed and declared to the APDP: To be completed by MetArt.

Your rights

You can access, correct and erase your data, object to processing and withdraw consent (WhatsApp, news, cookies) at any time, from your account or by contacting MetArt.
